Power Supply

The more equipment you install in a personal computer the more power you will need to run it. Computer power supplies are rated in watts. There is a vast difference in quality between power supply vendors. Quality of a power supply can usually be measured by it's weight. As a rule of thumb usually the heavier it is the better it's quality. A good quality pc will have a 400w+ power supply fitted. A cheaper pc will usually have a lower wattage psu. Current High performance PC's are now using power supplies of 550w+ as a bare minimum. 1000w+ power supplies are currently being fitted in the highest end systems
